At Bravehart Movement Co., our dress code is designed to allow dancers to move comfortably and confidently while giving instructors the ability to properly see alignment and technique. Dancers should arrive in clean, appropriate dancewear with hair secured away from the face.
 

Ballet & Ballet Technique

• Leotard

• Pink tights

• Ballet shoes 

• Hair secured in a tight neat bun 

• Ballet skirts may be worn at the instructor's discretion
   

Jazz

• leotard, fitted dance top, or sports bra

• Black leggings, dance shorts, or fitted dance pants

• Jazz shoes /barefoot

• Hair secured away from the face
   

Contemporary & Modern​

• Leotards, sports bras, fitted tops, leggings, or dance shorts are acceptable

• Dancers may participate barefoot

• Hair secured away from the face
   

Hip Hop

• Comfortable athletic or dancewear that allows for full movement

• Sweatpants, joggers, leggings, loose tops are acceptable

• Clean sneakers designated for indoor studio use are required
   

Progressions & Technique

• Fitted dancewear 

• Leotard, sports bra, or fitted top with leggings or dance shorts

• Appropriate dance shoes or barefoot

• Hair secured away from the face
   

Strength & Flexibility

• Fitted athletic or dancewear

• Leggings, dance shorts, sports bras, leotards, or fitted tops

• Dancers may participate barefoot

• Hair secured away from the face
   

Acro

• Fitted dancewear such as a leotard, sports bra, fitted top, leggings, or dance shorts

• Barefoot

• Hair must be fully secured

• No loose clothing, jewelry, or accessories that could interfere with safe movement
   

Little Movers
 

Comfortable clothing or dance-wear that allows for full movement. Leotards are welcome but not required, and dancers may participate barefoot.
 

Ballet/Jazz Combo

• Leotard

• Pink tights

• Pink ballet shoes and/or tan jazz shoes are encouraged

• Hair secured away from the face
   

Company Dancers

Company dancers should follow the dress code for each class style and maintain a clean, professional appearance during classes and rehearsals. Additional company-specific attire may be required throughout the season.
 

General Footwear Policy
 

Dancers may participate barefoot in all classes (EXCEPT HIP HOP) unless otherwise instructed by their teacher. Appropriate dance shoes are encouraged for styles where footwear supports training and technique but are not required unless specifically communicated by the instructor.

Any dance shoes or sneakers worn in the studio should be clean and reserved for indoor use. Outdoor shoes should not be worn on the studio dance floor.

 

General Guidelines

Dancers should wear clothing that allows for full movement and gives instructors the ability to see proper alignment. Jeans, dresses, restrictive clothing, and large or dangling jewelry should not be worn during class.

Hair should be secured away from the face for all classes. Bravehart Movement Co. apparel may be worn when appropriate for the class.
